Did you know that from January 2017, all self-managing landlords and property agents must be registered with Rental Bonds Online (RBO)? Did you also know that they must offer the service to new tenants? It’s true and not only that but it must be offered as the first option for lodgement of their residential rental bond.
This is a service that fast tracks the process and helps tenants, agents and landlords lodge and have the bond money refunded quickly, securely and easily with full visibility.
With the online service, tenants are able to pay their bond direct to NSW Fair Trading using Visa, Mastercard or BPAY.
Whilst most property managers have embraced the digital service, some agencies seem to be holding back so we encourage all tenant to ask their landlord or agent about managing their next residential rental bond using RBO.
Worth noting that for existing tenants who lodged their bind using a paper form, the refund can still be requested online in which case, refunds will be made by electronic transfer to the tenant’s nominated bank account.
